Problems began last Monday and was completely restored on Thursday. RIM said the selection of premium applications will be offered as an 'expression of appreciation for their patience during the disruption'. Applications will be available on BlackBerry App World from Wednesday, October 19 until December 31.
Steps to improve the reputation comes as a survey last week revealed that one in five BlackBerry users are considering switching to another phone. Business 'core' BlackBerry - provides secure email and messaging for business - seems to be under threat.
Announcing this free application, deputy CEO of RIM, Mike Lazaridis, said, "Our global network supporting the communication needs of more than 70 million subscribers. We really appreciate and uphold the values our relationship with our customers." Free application will include SIMS 3, Bejeweled, Bubble Bash 2, and Shazam Encore.
